Abstract: n-exact categories are a class of additive categories which can be regarded as analogues of exact categories from the point of view of Iyama's higher Auslander-Reiten theory and of higher homological algebra. In this 30 min talk I will give quick introduction to the theory of n-exact categories, highlighting some of the main ideas and motivating examples.
